The town of Montepulciano is known as the "Pearl of the 16th Century, because of its famous renaissance artists. You could also give it that title because of its undeniable and rare beauty.

Montepulciano is built along a narrow limestone ridge at 605 m above sea level. A long, winding street called the Corso climbs up to the main square, which crowns the summit of the hill. The town is encircled by walls and fortifications designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder in 1511. .

The vast hills and countryside that surround Montepulciano have beautiful landmarks that can be enjoyed by a leisurely walk. They are also covered in vineyards, making the ever so famous Vino Nobile.

Crociani, a producer of fine wines in Montepulciano, is situated at Le Caggiole. This is one of the most attractive areas in the heart of the town, making this a wonderful city to try out a new wine or two. If you're a movie buff, you might also recognize the town from the Twilight saga, "New Moon" and the T.V. series Medici.
